Zachariah William Zellmer, 19, of Coloma, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011, as the result of an automobile accident in Hartford, MI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 19, 2011 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 555 Delaware St., Benton Harbor officiated by Father William Jacobs, Jr., Father Don Wieber, Father Jim Morris and Father Mike Rejent with burial to follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Visitation will take place Sunday from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. with a special remembrance at 5:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan or the Lake Michigan Catholic High School Drama Department. Zachariah was born October 15, 1991 in Southfield, MI to Joseph & Sheila (Wildeman) Zellmer. He graduated from Lake Michigan Catholic High School in 2010 and was currently attending Lake Michigan College. Zac was an active participant in the local theater groups - including Lake Michigan Catholic High School, Twin City Players and Lakeshore Productions, running the technical equipment or working with the stage crew. He loved animals and was a frequent volunteer at the Humane Society. Zac also was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed science fiction-fantasy and manga books. Zac will always be remembered as a loyal individual who was very protective of his friends and family, and was someone always ready to listen to others.
Zac is survived by his parents Joseph and Sheila; a brother Nicholas Zellmer; a sister Avallion Zellmer all of Coloma; grandparents J. Robert (Beverly) Wildeman of St. Joseph and Catherine Zellmer of Lansing, his best friend Kevin Nelson and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Zellmer and Nellie Wildeman.
