ROUVELAS, ZACHARIAS P. "Jack" , 86 of Cranston and Bonita Springs, Fla. passed away peacefully January 12, 2013. Born in Providence , he was the son of the late Peter and Maria (Kalogeras) Rouvelas. He was the beloved husband of Nadine T. (Myer) Rouvelas for sixty years, the cherished father of Teresa M. Santagata and Gary P. Rouvelas, and devoted grandfather of Krystan M. Santagata, Thomas Z. Santagata and Allison P. Rouvelas. He was predeceased by his sisters Angelina Pappas and Ethel Petrucci. Jack, as he was called by family and friends, served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict and survived a plane crash in 1953. He was the proud founder and owner of Garden Hills Florist until retirement in 1998. He was a member of FTD and AHEPA and the R.I. Florist Association. His funeral is Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. from ''WOODLAWN'' Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Ave. Cranston, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 a.m. in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 175 Oaklawn Ave. Cranston, R.I. 02920. Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. VISITATION TUESDAY 4-8 p.m. Flowers are graciously welcome, or donations may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund

All my prayers and thoughts are with the Rouvelas family during this difficult time of loss. Uncle Jack was a very special man who brought a zest and enthusiasm for life that was infectious to all of us lucky enough to know him. Jack was truly and example of how to be a good man and his loving devotion to his family, friends and country is an inspiration for us all. I will truly miss you Uncle Jack but you are forever in my heart.
