Not sure what to say?

Baro, our deepest sympathies. We did not know Zalmai except for the few times we met him at your home, but we know that he was very dear to you, and your wonderful description helped us to understand a little of who he was. Our thoughts are with you and your family. Don and Elisabetta Clark

Zalmai, a wise grin, climbing the apricot tree for the highest fruit. Swinging swords at sunrise. Riding fast and hard into tall granite landscapes, searching for famous places. Hand made gardens carved in the desert. Huge hearted friend,
there is no end. We remember you.

Zalmai was a great boss and even a more interesting room mate. The good times at El Nido and the Steaksmith days downtown will be missed.

Baro and family: Reading about the incredible person Zalmai is evidence that his legacy will live on forever. I know the loss has left a huge void for you and the family. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Kay Watson

Baro & family: Sorry to hear about your loss. The story about Zalmai made me feel like I knew him but alas, I only knew him through Baro. Bunny & I send you our best prayers and thoguhts

INCREDIBLE SENSE OF HUMOR - LOTS OF LAUGHTER WITH THIS MAN. JOHN HARRISON

Baro and Family: There are no words of comfort that can fill the void left by your loss. May you gain strength to face each day without Zalmai; understanding to see the greater picture of his existence; and peace to know that he made a difference with his time on earth. Chris and Teresa McElroy

You are a memorable person Zalmai -- not many can say that.

My dear Shalizis, I know the loss of Zalmai has left a huge hole in your hearts and in your family. I will always remember my childhood friend and deskmate with love, fondness, and humor. I hope you will soon gain peace from your memories of him as well. Caroline LaBorde
