Read MoreI was so sad to read of Zalman's passing. I have so many fond memories of Mitzi and Zalman (and Higby). I was amazed to read that there are 11 grandchildren. What a full, rich life Zalman had. I know he was such an inspiration to Sol and many other pioneers. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Dear Alper family
I am so sorry for your loss. Zalmon and I were good friends many years ago at Von Steuben High School. We were members of the Jewish Youth League of Chicago along with another young man whose last name was Horn and I believe his first name was also Zalmon. The JYL was an important organization in the high schools of the city at that time. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.
