Commemorating my Beloved Band Instructor, Mr. Taylor. God Bless you, family. Prayerfully,,, J. Abel - R. N. Dett

I was recently telling my wife stories about this great band teacher I had in the 5th-6th grade at Brown Elementary School in Chicago in 1969-1970. Mr. Taylor was amazing in teaching and helping create our love for music. His patience was extraordinary.
Rest in peace!

Mr Taylor taught me how to play the mellophone during my tenure at Mary Mapes Dodge Elementry School on the West Side of Chicago. He was the coolest brother in the school :)! He taught us to play all the chart toppers during that time. The band was devestated when he left. It was never the same. My condolences to his family. Thanks Mr. Taylor for making my grammar school days the best!!
