Zeke Bratkowski

I knew Zeke when I retired to Destin and played golf in a group he was in. What a treat to know him. He was as good of a man as I have ever known. I loved him very much

I was just a little kid, ten years old. My father died and my mom took me on a train trip from Chicago to Green Bay. My uncle took me to De Pere to watch the Packers practice at St. Norbert´s College. I got Zeke´s autograph and Paul Hornung´s and Bart Starr´s autograph. They paid attention to a ten year old. I am forever a Packer fan...watching the game right now. Went to a Bears Packer game several years ago...Packers won. I thought the Bears fans were going to choke me because...

I am so sorry for the loss of Zeke Bratkowski. Please accept my deepest condolences. May you find comfort in your wealth of fond memories together. May the God of comfort along with his promise that one day very soon, no one will say they are sick be a comfort to you during this difficult time. (Isaiah 33: 24)

My condolences to Mr. Bratkowskis family. Although not a Packer fan, I was a young NFL fan during the teams Lombardi era. My memory of Zeke is as a reliable backup to Starr in many crucial situations. With his death and that of others from that time I feel a little more of my youth slip away. May he Rest In Peace.
