Not sure what to say?

My condolences to the family,
I am a friend of Zene. We both served in the Marine Corps. I knew Mr. Fearing Sr. only through visits at the family house or Nags Head. I never knew he was an educator and coach. It turns out he had a great deal in common with my father. Much Aloha,

To The Family and Friends Of Coach Fearing - 10 May 2010
It is said that those teachers remembered are the ones who had the most impact on a student's school career. Mister Fearing was one teacher who falls into that catagory in my case. I have lived in California for many years but my brother in Portsmouth had just spoken of Mister Fearing and now the news reaches the opposite coast. Mister Fearing was a good man, a teacher who had the student's best interest at heart and a person who...

Ms. Barbara, Diane, Zene and Tag, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Please know that my family is keeping you all lifted up in prayer. When I read the obituary I thought, my my, what a full and rich life, and I know you all were very proud of him. I'm glad I was a part of your life many years ago.Good Memories stay with us forever! Valerie (Gray) Daniels Your soundside friend.

It was with extreme sadness that I learned of Coach Fearing's passing. He was an excellent role model for those with whom he worked and coached. His work ethic and ability to inspire members of our 1957-58 football teams at Churchland High School contributed immensely to my success in life.

So very sorry for your loss, after reading his obituary-what a life- how proud you all must be - how missed he will be - what a man. he surely has a place in heaven.

I was saddened to hear of the death of Coach Fearing. I was a student at Churchland High School in the late 50s and early 60s, Class of 1962, and Coach Fearing, as we all called him, was my gym teacher and football coach. Along with Coach Joe Smith and Coach Jack Wayland, we were taught and guided by some of the best teachers and coaches of that time. Coach Fearing's quick smile, and even quicker sneer when you did something wrong, was always a reminder of his concern for all of his students....

Mr. Fearing was our high school teacher and coach long ago in Hertford,N.C. How we admired and respected him. Our deepest sympathy to the family and may your wonderful memories of this fine man ease your sadness.

We are so sad to hear of Mr Fearing's passing. He touched and mentored many lives and will be missed by all. Our deepest sympathies to Mrs Fearing, Zene, Diane and Tag.

Love, Michael and Polly Sutphin
