Not sure what to say?

Our dear Zita may be gone and NEVER forgotten. We think of you often, our dear friend. I know your sprit is with us and we turn to you for comfort and advice often. Love and miss you, Zita.

Zita gave her heart and soul to the College of Humanities to the College of Humanities and Social studies and we were benefitted by her commitment to quality.

I owe two things to Zita. She was my role model for being Senior Associate Dean at Mason. Zita defined the role for all of us across the university. Zita was amazing mentor for my years at GMU. She taught me to have a critical eye and fight hard for what I believed in. I fell out of touch with her when she retired. I'm so happy to know that she was close to family and is now at peace.

Zita will be so missed. We met her in Santa Fe and she became a BFF. We have so many lovely memories of our time shared with Zita. Always there for us and ready to step up to the antics of the day. You will be missed, Girlfriend. And, we are SO luck to have had you in our lives for these past years!

I was appointed a Graduate School Dean at George Mason University in 1992. I met a lot of dedicated and competent people. None more so than Dr. Zita Tyler. She was very bright and totally engaged with students, faculty and administrators. You never had to ask her to help -- she just volunteered. Engaging, committed and always with a smile and a cheery word, she won the respect of many. The angels in heaven will welcome her as a co-worker.
