My condolences on the passing of your mother. I was so struck by her obituary because it remarkably paralleled my father's life. He passed away in 2003.
"Mr. Alexander Purins was born August 9, 1915, in Kaluga, Russia. (His mother was born in Tambov.) They moved back to Riga, Latvia in 1920. I only met Zoya couple of times through my friendship with her daughter, Reet. She was such a strong personality and it came through right away. I'm sorry she is gone but I know she'll be fondly remembered.
