Wasn't sure where to start, so have delayed a bit. Merle, Tomas, Andy, Teresa: Since a child I have felt an affinity for Zulema that went beyond the obvious relationship. She was always a cheerleader for me and my family, as I know she was to countless. I know she is still with us- I still hear her deep laugh and see that little knowing smile that tells me everything will be all right. Love you all, abrazos, Lalo

Zulema was my friend and colleague. I will miss her deeply. I have great memories of her wit and good sense of humor. She was an outstanding Latina who gave so much of her time and skills to help the community. Merle and family, please know you are in my prayers.

My sincere sympathy & prayers to Zulema's family. I was very saddened to hear of her passing; I was not aware of her retirement or ill health. Zulema & I crossed paths in public health many times over the last 20 years. She took the Nursing Director position in Farmington, NM when I left, & we continued in phone & meeting contact since then. She was a committed, gracious public health professional who leaves a legacy of better quality services for moms & kids in Colorado. Her family can...

The family of Zulema,
I worked with Zulema at the State Bldg. Zulema was a very kind, gracious lady who I visited with often. I didn't get to make it to the funeral, but wanted to extend to Merle and her family my deepest condolences. She was loved by many and will indeed be missed. In talking with Zulema, I know that she believed in Christ and is watching all of us from above. May the Lord give you peace for having shared a portion of her life. She was a great lady.
