HAVING WORKED WITH MARY FOR MANY YEARS AT WHEATON CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL, IT CAME AS QUITE A SHOCK TO HEAR OF HER PASSING THIS MORNING. SHE WAS A WARM AND CARING CO-WORKER WHO HAD A WONDERFUL RELATIONSHIP WITH HER STUDENTS. SHE WILL BE SORELY MISSED BY ALL WHO HAD THE PLEASURE OF KNOWING AND WORKING WITH HER. GOD SPEED MARY. REST IN WELL EARNED PEACE.

Mrs. Wangerin was a steady provider of kindness and compassion in the often chaotic surroundings of high school. There must be thousands of us whose teenaged souls were gently and unwittingly sculpted by her unassuming, reassuring smile.
She was part of the village it took to raise children.
Rest In Peace.
