Susan Fine Russell, 75, of Estero, FL and Canandaigua, NY, died October 31, 2018, after a long illness.
She was born on December 16, 1942, in Oak Park, IL, the daughter of Albert and Vivian Fine.
Susan graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School, followed by Baldwin Wallace College in 1964. She was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. Susan moved to Rochester, NY to intern at Eastman Kodak Company, then worked there as a dietician for 8 years, directing the Kodak cafeterias.
She was married on September 12, 1970, in Rochester and raised her family in Pittsford, NY. A dedicated volunteer, she gave her time to PTSA, Meals on Wheels, and the Girl Scouts, and was a PEO member. After moving to Florida, she volunteered for the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, sharing her love of wildlife with many.
Sue was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. She was thoughtful and kind, always putting others before herself. Her positive outlook, warm heart, nurturing manner, and infectious smile brought joy to all those around her.
Susan is survived by her husband of 48 years, H. Bruce Russell; daughter Wendy and son-in-law Eric Tracy; daughter Amy and son-in-law Jesse Litwak; daughter Julie Russell; granddaughters Caroline Tracy, Julia Tracy, Sophie Litwak, and Anna Litwak; sister Polly Peters; sister Bonnie Seliger and brother-in-law Dale Seliger; nieces Susan Nelson Hirth and Verna Hartley; nephews Brad Russell, Al Seliger, Blake Peters, Blair Peters, and Steve Nelson; brother-in-law Ted Russell and sister-in-law Gina Russell. She was predeceased by brother Larre Fine.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m on November 10 at First Presbyterian Church in Bonita Springs, FL. Donations in Susan's name may be directed to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle N., Fort Myers, FL 33908 with the family's deep appreciation.
