Naples, FL

Dorothy Helen Weeks passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 28, 2018. All who knew her knew her only as Mama Dot. Mama Dot was born in New York City, NY on January 18, 1925 to parents, Vincent and Margaret Depierro. She moved to Everglades City, Florida in 1945 with her

husband Ivan, the love of her life.

Mama Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Ivan Weeks Sr., and her son, Pete Weeks. She is survived by her sister, Millie Gjodsen, children Marie Thompson (Mike), Bobby Weeks and Elizabeth Weeks-Byrd (Jimmy). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Michelle Krystaszek, David Ballard, Phillip Weeks, Shana Weeks, Spencer Sneed, Lola Weeks, Clinton Weeks Sr., Kristie Jenkins, Sarah McMillin, Lynn Hill, Jesse Hill, Lee Kidder, 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Special mention of Eva Weeks and Anita Ballard, her life-long daughters, and Gary McMillin whom she considered a great friend.

A memorial service for friends and family will be held at the First Baptist Church of Everglades City, 416 School Drive, Everglades City, on Saturday, October 13th at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in her name to the First Baptist Church of Everglades City.
