Patricia Reeves Obituary

Patricia E. Reeves

Patricia E. Reeves, age 69, passed away on Sunday, April 19th, with her children by her side. Her last 4 years were courageous as she battled breast cancer and two open-heart aortic valve replacement surgeries.

After growing up in Georgia, her free spirit took her to Europe where she worked for the University of Maryland in Germany and traveled abroad for several years. While there, she became an accomplished skier, making frequent trips to Austria and Switzerland to tear up the slopes. Upon returning, she circled the US twice before finding Naples. Her early employments were at the Naples Star using her artistic talent in advertising and as a drafter and steal inspector.

What Patsy is best known for is her art. For the last 35 years, she has been an extremely accomplished and talented professional artist. Her gorgeous works of art are spread across many of the finer homes, hotels, and buildings across Naples and beyond. Her work will be cherished by all who have it. She was an amazing mother and those that knew her would say her greatest works of art are her children. She is survived by her children, Casey Jenks and his wife Lindsey, Cheyenne Rotunno and her husband Robert, ex-husband Peter Jenks, her brother Tracy Reeves, sister Connie Reeves, and niece Shannon Sims.

I noted her name in the NDN obituaries. I was president of the Friends of Art in 2002 and a number of our board members participated in the artists' selection committee...Patty was chosen as one of the fabulous featured artists on that year's tour. I reached out to those of us who are still in Naples and am sending this on our behalf as a message of remembrance to her family. She was a very special lady, and a wonderful artist.
Leslie Branda, former President of the Friends of Art and members of the 2002 Artists' Studio Tour selection committee. Her obituary photograph was just beautiful, like her spirit.

The thought of Patsy will always makes me smile! I was 13 years old when I first came to Naples to see my oldest sister Lea & meet her best friend/housemate Patsy. They had just moved back from living & traveling around Europe for several years. The three of us took off on a two week road trip through central FL & down to The Keys in Patsy's Volkswagen van, "camping" in the van & staying with various friends along the way. Gypsy days! They shared 40 years of friendship, always filled with fun & laughter when they were together. Lea's mind may not be aware her "sister" has left this world but I'm sure she knows it in her heart & soul as they always had such a strong spiritual connection. If Lea could speak, I know she would say "Soar high & free Patsy, I'll see you in my dreams! " Sending Lea's love and hugs to you both Casey & Cheyenne and I pray your hearts are at peace.
