I am proud to say that my Grandfather had a great part in raising me. Without him, I wouldn't be half the man I am now, and I would consider myself lucky if I were to someday become half the man he was. I deeply regret that my own children won't have the same privilege and honor that I did. I would have said Thank you to him myself once more if I hadn't been left so speechless. I'm going to miss sitting at the table with him, sharing a cup of coffee, a few good stories, and a few good laughs. I'd like to think that he taught me some of the most important lessons of my life. One being to always show respect where it's due, and another being that despite it seeming like a myth , that true love exists. I think that I'll always envy the love that my grandparents had for each other, and I'm glad that they were able to show me the efforts and the rewards of the love they had for one another. I'm just glad that I had him to call my friend.

Grandson George

March 8, 2009

I am not good at this but I will give it my best. Paps was not just my grandfather and mentor he was also one of few (including my grandmother) I could call my best friend. I was there with him when he passed and all I could think of was, I wish I could have learned more & done more with him and how my kids have to grow up with out him. We may not have had a whole lot growing but I would not change it for anything because what he and my grandmother gave us is priceless & will last us a lifetime but also made us strong like like them. Even though he maybe gone (and what I wouldn't do for one more story) his legacy will live on through me and mine and continue to make him proud. I just want to thank him and say goodbye one last time.
