Rudolph Ashton Obituary

Rudolph Ashton, 89, of Richmond, Va., died February 2, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

Mr. Ashton served in the Navy during World War II and was a tax attorney for Reynolds Metals Company.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Audrae C. Ashton of the home; two sons, Rudolph A. Ashton III and wife, Joanne, of New Bern and James J. Ashton and wife, Linda, of Raleigh; and three grandchildren, Alex Ashton of Greensboro, Erin Ashton of Greenville and Jennifer Ashton of Raleigh.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at the Cedarfield Retirement Community in Richmond, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sheltering Arms Hospital, Donations, 8254 Atlee Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23116.
