Dear Maria and family, Imagine the surprise I had when I was at Deb Elam's house the other day and she showed me the funeral bulletin of her doctor friend we'd been praying for. I knew she was helping to care for a friend but I had no idea it was Dr. Takacs! I was just stunned when I saw his picture. I'm so sorry. I'm glad i had the opportunity to work for such a fine man. I learned a lot under him. Deb said he handled the illness with such grace, dignity, acceptance and humor! What a fine example of a Godly man he was. I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. Praise God he is with Jesus where there is no more sorry or pain and you will see him again! Much love and sympathy, Kristin Gaetjens

Dr Steve Takacs was a wonderful man and a fabulous doctor. When he left private practice my husband was devastated. He adored Dr. Takacs and continues to mourn that he is no longer in his care. He missed having his caring friend to talk to. We just discovered that Dr. Takacs went on to his reward and our hearts are broken. We actually were trying to discover his address so that we could take a drive by and to mail him a card. We are so very very sorry for your loss.

I worked with Steve back when I was at Lake Health Systems. I left to go to Activate health care, which merged with Paladina. I am glad that Steve found us he was a perfect fit for the type of health care we deliver. I spoke with him often at meetings, and I am truly sorry to hear about his illness and passing. I only found out today because Paladina did a nice tribute today in his honor. I will send my prayers up for him and his family, and I am glad he got the chance to practice medicine the way he knew it should be practiced. I will miss seeing him at osteopathic conferences and discussing medical ethics and osteopathic practices and principles. He was truly a leader in the field and will be missed by all who knew or were blessed to be around him.

Dear Maria,
Thank You so much for allowing your husbands' funeral mass to be viewed. It was a beautiful service.
I remember the first time I had an encounter with him. Although I knew you from working on making angels for St. Helens' Christmas program, I did not know who your husband was.
After the program, I was in the kitchen service area providing snacks when a screaming child( who was bleeding) was rushed back in to my area. I knew immediately the man with him was not his father. I turned to an adult across the counter and asked who the man was, and of course it was Dr. Takacs. After he calmed the child down, I thought he was going to stitch him up right then and there.
As he exited the kitchen area after the commotion was over, he looked at me and smiled (almost laughed). If I had to guess what was going through his mind, he probably thought maybe I should take a moment and make sure this lady gets color back in her face.
My deepest sympathy to you and all your family.

I was a pharmaceutical sales rep who grew up on Buckeye Rd and called on him for years. He was by far one of my favorite doctors. A rep has to wait a lot in offices and I would always engage in conversation with his patients while waiting. They didnt just rave about him as a doctor, they loved him as a person. The atmosphere in the office was warm and inviting. This reflected on his personality. I send my deepest condolences and will say my prayers tonight with his soul in my intentions. Rest In Peace Dr.Takacs, it was my honor and privilege to have known you. My sympathy to his family.

Maria and family -

Steve was on my team at Paladina for about 9 months until his disease prevented him from working. He was one of those people we were all better for knowing. With Steve, you never left a conversation without being encouraged. He was a physician who deeply loved the practice of medicine and the difference he could make. He was a gracious humble servant and he will be missed by so many! We are so grateful to have had him on our team. Prayers to you all during this time.

Steve was a very fine and caring doctor who always help the welfare of his patients in his highest esteem. I met him when he was a resident and was so happy he stayed here in Ohio to practice. His sense of humor was legendary and love for his friends was inspirational. His faith in the Lord and his acceptance of the terrible ALS disease was remarkable. So many peoples lives were enriched by having him here with us. Prayers to Maria and family.

Steve was my physician for over twenty years. I considered him a friend by the time I moved away. He never hesitated to greet with a hug, join me in a prayer and lift my spirits. He was my hero through several medical issues as I am sure he was a hero to many. I believe God needed him in Heaven to help find a way to heal the world. God Bless his loving family in this time of sorrow.
