MAMIE GALLON Obituary

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Mamie Gallon, 88, Daytona Bch, who passed peacefully, Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at The Health Center of Daytona Beach, will be 11 AM, Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Mt. Zion AME Church, Rev. David L. Connelly, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5-8:30 PM, Friday, (today, April 5) at RJ Gainous Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6-8 PM and from 9:30 AM until service time at the church on Saturday. Mrs. Gallon was a long time, faithful and very active member of Mt. Zion AME Church, where she served in numerous ministries. Her community involvement included a lifetime membership of the NAACP and she was an active member of Zeta Amicae. She worked in the Volusia County School System as a Cafeteria Manager until retirement. She is preceded in death by her husband, Theado and other sisters and brothers. She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving daughter Joyce (Eddie) Anderson, Daytona Bch; 2 brothers, Mitchell Thomas, Daytona Bch, Willie Thomas, Monticello, FL; 2 grand-daughters, Rashell Rosier, Houston, TX, Cherlyn Anderson, Daytona Bch; an adopted son, Archie (Wynell) Gallon, Daytona Bch; an adopted granddaughter, Valencia (Stephen) Stubbs, Wellington, FL; 2 adopted grandsons, Michael Gallon, Jason (Shawna) Gallon, all of Daytona Bch; 2 adopted great grandsons, Stephen Stubbs, Joshua Stubbs, both of Wellington, FL; an adopted granddaughter, Annelise Gallon, Daytona Bch, 3 godchildren, Joe (Sheryl) Lewis, Palm Coast, FL; Robert (Rena) Stokes, St. Augustine, FL, Michelle McBride, Daytona Bch; a special cousin, John (Ann) Thomas, Daytona Bch; a very devoted family, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Adams, Daytona Bch; a special friend and riding partner, Ms. Joan Johnson, Daytona Bch; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
