Michael Fernald Obituary
his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 19, 2016. Born in New London, Conn., on December 24, 1956, Michael had recently celebrated more than 40 years of dedicated work at Amtrak and was affectionately known as "Amtrak Mike." He was a devoted HOG (Harley-Davidson Owners Group) and enjoyed bike rides and annual Bike Week celebrations with friends and family. An affable man, Michael's big heart and warm laugh will be missed by friends and family. Michael was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Mary Messner Fernald. He is survived by his father, Charles Elmore Fernald of Deltona, Fla.; three brothers, Eric of Deltona, Fla., Mark of Jacksonville, Fla., and Charles Elmore Fernald Jr and his wife, Sarah, of Kingston, N.Y.; two sisters, Mariellen House of Brunswick, Maine, and Dr. Amber Fernald Rach and her husband, Chris, of Virginia Beach, Va.; one niece, Marissa House of Bangor, Maine; and one nephew, Charles Elmore Fernald III of Kingston, N.Y. Michael's family and friends celebrated his life during a private gathering on December 20, 2016.

Mike you will be so very much missed by so many, you were a kind soul that knew how to turn a bad time good. I sit back and think of all the good times we had, from bike weeks to cruises, to annual vacations, and all those holiday meals we spent together.
