Paul was a very caring and active friend. He was like a mentor and was a terrific scientist and teacher. My fondest memory is of him holding a herbarium specimen and having a discourse about it. He was a true botanist.

I fondly remember Paul for his ability to have people commit to science. He was responsible for my coming to Missouri State University and in making the Department into a research department. His commitment to the Botanical Gardens in St. Louis was also inspiring.

Dr. Redfearn was an extraordinary Mayor, leader and great man who led Springfield to bigger and better things. He was always available, kind, patient and helpful. It was a great pleasure to know him and work with him when I was a radio news reporter in Springfield.

Dr. Redfearn was my undergraduate advisor and teacher for several classes at SMS in the 1962 - 1966 time period. A real privilege to have known this great educator. He has made an influence on my life as well as many others.

I will remember Paul as a very special person who helped us get started with our job at Missouri State University. He was a true scientist and citizen scholar. I have fond memories of Paul.
