Mary Lou Kayes

Mary Lou Kayes, 82, passed away February 6, 2013 in Springfield, Missouri. She was born July 8, 1930 in Mountain View, Missouri to James and Crystal Ann Hargrove Grant.

Mary was a graduate of Mountain View High School, 1948, and Draughan's Business College. She has resided in Springfield since 1948 and was a long time Springfield business woman. Her first job was with Addrressograph and later went to work for her future husband, Robert R. Pike, at Bossi Sales. Co. She was a member of SMMA, and a past president of Friends of the Springfield Art Museum. She married Robert in 1958 and assumed management of their various enterprises and real estate after his death in 1980. She was a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, a charter member of Twin Oaks Country Club, and The Tower Club.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert and also by husband Charles O. Kayes.

She is survived by her sons Lee Courtney (Marilyn), Michael Pike, and Mark Pike (Jennifer) all of Springfield, MO; six grandchildren Alex Pike, Presley Pike, Leland Courtney IV, Robert Courtney, Brittney Courtney, and Lori Courtney; three step-grandchildren Nick Velliquette, Lauren Mulheron (Ryan), and Joseph Velliquette; and two great-grandchildren Kylie and Cassandra Courtney.

Visitation will be Monday, February 11, 2013 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with a prayer service beginning at 7:30pm. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 10:30am in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church with Msgr. Thomas E. Reidy, celebrant. Entombment will be in the Rivermonte Mausoleum.
