Craig Bowyer Obituary

Obituary

It is with our greatest sorrow that we must share the news of the untimely passing of our beloved son Craig Alan Bowyer. He spent his life from 19 years old serving in the Navy, first in the Reserves in 1986, and then transferring to active duty with the Seabees in 1989. His job involved to a large part the maintenance of large vehicles and equipment. He was based in Gulfport, Mississippi; his other deployments were in California, Virginia, Okinawa, Andros and Puerto Rico. In 1990 he served in the Gulf War, followed by Iraq in 2006. He loved computers and collecting guns and rifles for target practice He spent most of his adult life serving his country with great pride, courage and commitment, and was only two weeks away from retiring from the Navy.

He is survived by his parents, Everett and Doris Bowyer, his brother Scott along with his wife Ruby and sons Bobby and Chris. We love and miss him unbelievably; he was much too young to leave us this soon.

There will be a Memorial Service in his honor on Sunday July 27th at 2:00 PM at Shikany's Bonita Funeral home at 28300 Tamiami Trail in Bonita Springs followed by a reception in the Clubhouse at the Villages of Bonita.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the American Humane Society 63 Inverness Dr. E., Englewood, CO 80112 or online at:

A Mother's Poem, by Doris

Time seems so endless,

a house built of cards,

And then it comes crashing

and breaks up in shards.

One takes it for granted,

as we did our son,

And then he was taken,

at just forty-one.

My Craig, my love and

my life was he,

There's a hole in my chest

where my heart used to be.

I loved you so much,

with all of my soul,

My pain is so great

it swallows me whole.

My tears will not end,

I wish you knew this,

I'd give up my life

for one very last kiss.

Love and miss you forever

Craig

You are missed.
We enjoyed having you over and even going out for pizza after your retirement.
Things just did not work out like we thought it would.
We only wish we could have you over one more time.

You will never be forgotten.
I will still remember you when you were an E2 and two great deployments in NMCB's

Rest in peace my brother.

David
