Joseph Lipshutz

April 28, 2012

Born in Krakow Poland, November 1, 1918.

Joe was a Schindler's List Holocaust Survivor.

42 of his relatives were killed in the Holocaust.

He arrived in the US in 1949 with his wife Ann (deceased), infant, Rosalie, & cousin Will.

Joe became an American citizen. August 1955.

Following college, he began his electrical engineering career, retired as Vice President from Shaevitz Engineering in 1980. Joe held several patents, including one for the U.S. space shuttle system.

He remarried in 1968. Joe and his wife Doris, loved

traveling, visiting 43 states and 9 European & Asian countries

During his retirement, Joe spent much of his free time speaking in schools, places of worship and to other interested groups in the Ft. Myers area, sharing his Holocaust experience.

Lovingly remembered and missed by Doris, his wife of 43 years & children: Rosalie ( Harvey ), Lynn (Chip), Will (Miriam). Donna (Tim), Bill (Gail)

His legacy continues through 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A Graveside service was held by his family in Pennsauken NJ . He was 93.

A Memorial service will be held on Thursday May 31, at 11:00am,with Ben Feldman officiating at Barrington Terrace, 9731 Commerce Center Court, FT. Myers
