Quentin Cornell Obituary


Obituary

Quentin C. Cornell formerly of Lancaster PA, husband of Betty M. Cornell, born February 9, 1920, died on November 19, 2005. He was the son of the late Isabella M. and Roy Cornell. He resided on Fort Myers Beach Florida FL since 1982.

Quentin retired from Pennsylvania Power and Light Company after 43 years of service where he was a Supervisor of the Construction Department. He began at Safe Harbor and Holtwood as a laborer. He also owned and operated the Conestoga Inn in Lancaster for 18 years.

In World War II he served in Europe from 1941 to 1945 and was awarded the Purple Heart, retiring as Captain in the Corps of Engineers.

Quentin belonged to Washington Lodge, No. 156 F & AM Quarryville, PA. He was a Mason for 50 years. He was previously a member of Media Heights Country Club in Lancaster PA, a member of Spanish Wells Country Club in Bonita, FL and a member of Quail Creek Country Club in Naples, FL.

In addition he is survived by a daughter, Linda M. Myers, wife of Jeffrey L. Myers and three step-children, Harry Longenecker, husband of Rosalie Longenecker, Wiletta Mattern, Brenda Miller, husband of Barry Miller; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of Lancaster.

There will be a Memorial in honor of Quentin's memory on December 10 at 11:00 AM, at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Fort Myers Beach, FL. Pastor Thomas Snapp will conduct the service. Family will receive friends after the service.
