It is so hard to believe that the years have passed. Much has changed. I'm so sorry Jim missed so many new experiences. Regrettably, I have lost touch with Jim's family. I still often think of good old Jim - puffing on his big cigar and laughing deeply, enjoying a good story over poker. Or our famous camping/rafting trip where Jim went overboard and had to be pulled back into the raft. He was such a good sport. I miss him! I hope the family is doing well ... Dan

Dear Carol and Family. Jim taught me a lot about the company. I remembered Jim from the old days. I learned a lot from him. He and I came down from NYC. We both learned about this new place and built a new home and families. I will always remember how hard he worked and how he handled the stress.

It is with great sadness that I learn of Jim's passing. When Jim joined the MIS staff in 1975 he came in like we had known him forever. He was the consummate professional and a true gentleman. His team served my department and always was clearly outstanding in everything he did for our company. Better yet, he was a friend and a wonderful role model for all who worked for him and for those of us who watched from afar. I will always fondly remember his kindness and humor. He had an infectious laugh and prized his family, openly. He had so many admirable traits that we all were beneficiaries from just being around him. I was sad when he left our company and relished the many lunches we had together with other retirees from our company. It had been a short time since I was able to enjoy one of those meals with my friends and now will have an open space one held by one of the great people I have known. I hope the family finds solace knowing that Jim touched so many people in his career and life. We will sorely miss this wonderful person!

Dear Ivacic Family, I was so sad to hear today that Jim died. He was my first boss at Syngenta/Ciba-Geigy. I have a fond memory of he and I laughing until we almost cried over a task at work - he supported his people and made it easy and fun for the work to get done - sounds like he did the same in his volunteer work, also. I think he made a big impact because he genuinely cared in addition to being a very smart man. I am so sorry for your loss and will hold you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Dear Ivacic Family, with deep sadness I heared today of the death of Jim. It is a pretty long time ago when we established the network connections in our company between Greensboro/Tarrytown and Basel (Switzerland), where Jim took care for the Greensboro part. He was always open, kind and supportive across the ocean and I keep him and his positive attitude always in good memory. Hoping that you will get a lot of support during these very difficult times. Best regards Herbert Steiert (Head of Telecommunications at the time 1992-1996).

It is with deep regret that we learned of the passing of Jim Ivacic, a great colleague from our years at Ciba-Geigy, and a great friend. He was one of the first supervisors that I had at Ciba when I first started my career in Management Services in Greensboro, and I will never forget the encouragement and guidance that I received from him, and in the years that we continued with the company. Jim also later had become a supervisor for a special young lady who would eventually become my wife, and he supported our courtship during that time. May he rest in the arms of the Lord, and may his wife Carol, his two daughters, and their families find peace during this time.

My condolences to the Ivacic family. I am so sad over Jim's passing. I met Jim in the summer of 1975 when we both transferred to Greensboro. We became good friends fast. I liked Jim from the start. In those early days we became par 3 golf klutzes together. Over the years we went on to be productive colleagues, fun poker pals and good lunch buddies. When I picture Jim I always see him with a hearty laugh, having a grand time. Jim had a great sense of humor. However, what stands out most in my mind was how he spoke so lovingly of Carol and his whole family. Jim took great pride in his family. It was clear his family brought him much joy and comfort. Jim always had positive stories about his lovely daughters as they grew up to become accomplished women. And he always spoke in absolute glowing terms about his grand-children. I will miss Jim. I already miss him. Rest in peace my friend. -
