Kaleb Rancer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 20, 2011.

HIGH POINT — Kaleb Joshua Rancer, 7, earned his angel wings on Thursday, March 17, 2011. He was a mighty warrior during his time here on earth. He is healed now and in no more pain. We know he is rejoicing in Heaven, running, not walking on streets of gold.

A service celebrating Kaleb's life will be held at 7p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2011 at Westover Church in Greensboro, with Pastor Jake Thornhill officiating. A balloon release will precede the service at 6:30 p.m.

Kaleb was born in Guilford County on October 30, 2003, to Phillip Robert and Trish May Rancer. Kaleb was a survivor of a stem cell transplant in 2005, and was cared for by an amazing team of doctors, nurses, and many others at Duke Children's Hospital. The family will be forever grateful for the care and love they and Kaleb received there.

Kaleb will be remembered for his quick wit and always leaving everyone he met with a smile on their face. He was truly "one in a million". He lived his life to the fullest during his seven years and touched more lives than we could ever know.

Surviving are his parents, Phillip and Trish Rancer; sister, Katie; grandparents, his beloved Mimi, Marti Millikan of Julian, and Karl Rancer of Stokesdale, Mary Rancer of Morehead City; aunts and uncles, Allen and Tammy May of Thomasville, Frank and Lisa Rancer of Stokesdale, Windy Hartman of Archdale, Cindy and Tommy Wilson of Stokesdale; cousins, Calli and Caden Rancer of Summerfield, Saige McDonald of Archdale, Kip Wilson of Stokesdale, and Jessica and Allie May of Thomasville.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 21, 2011 from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Westover Church, 505 Muirs Chapel Road in Greensboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations at any Bank of America to the special account of Kaleb Joshua Rancer (according to Bank and Federal laws, checks must be made to both Phillip & Trish Rancer, and will be accepted at any Bank of America location in the world).

Forbis & Dick Funeral Service is serving the Rancer family, and online condolences may be offered at www.forbisanddick.com.

Trish and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers. You had a amazing lil son. I didn't know him personally, but what I do know is his Mom.. And you were always amazing. Also the things I read about Kaleb says it as well. I wish you peace in your hearts in knowing that he is strolling through Heaven with that smile.

Dear Trish, Phillip, and my precious Katie,
I'm sending you a note in case I don't get to speak to you tomorrow with all the people around. I just wanted to tell you how much I loved Kaleb and had such a good time with him. His humor was so advanced for his age! I am in and out of rooms, but he was always one of my favorites....yes, (I know I'm not supposed to have favorites, right, Katie; 1st favorite my 1st year at SWE!!) I will always cherish the moment he put those silly paper sunglasses on when we visited at Duke. That picture is just priceless, just as he was. My heart aches for you guys.

I don't know how to help make the hurt and pain any less for you, but I do know of One that you can go to for that help. I pray that our Lord will rain down mercies, grace, and strength to your family. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

Love,
Karen Beaston
