Dear Atila, I was very sorry to learn about the death of Professor Tejera. Though I never knew him, he was a very productive and respected scholar. May you and all your friends find solace as he has entered into the land of light and joy. My prayers for you and for all who knew him.
As always, Jack

Dear Atila,
Thank you for letting me know about Victorino. I am sorry to hear that he is no longer with us, but happy that he lived such a long, rich life. He was always very kind to me. I will miss him and his scholarship on ancient Greek philosophy.
I wish that I has been able to pay my respects.

Thank you for informing me of the sad news. The consolation is that he had such an extraordinary life that affected so many people in a positive way. I learned many things from your wonderful bio that I did not know before!
Best wishes,

Thank you for this notice and for the very informative biography of Victorino, some of which was quite new to me. I must look at those passages in On the Road. Thanks also for your editing of the last book. I'm glad to hear that Victorino was aware of the blurb.
Best

I believe that Victorino and I saw one another only a very few times since we met at a conference on Plato in New York almost three decades ago. Our shared interest and compatible views made us friends right away.
Thank you for sending a copy of your fascinating obituary.
Please accept and extend to the family my heartfelt condolences as together we mourn the loss of a good man and good scholar.
Sincerely,

This is a long compilation addressed to the memory of Victorino, from colleagues and academics;
Thank you for informing me of Victor Tejera. I am sorry I cannot attend the services. It is so admirable and impressive that he lived until 95. For years now I often thought of him. We were close corridor colleagues in the PHI Dept. at Stony Brook, both members of the American and History of Philosophy wing of the old department. We shared a common interest in the works of Justus Buchler. We both lived in Huntington, just two miles away along Westbury Road. I sometimes visited his home and got to know his lovely wife. We were members of the same Huntington Racquet club and often played tennis together, we drove down together to visit Justus Buchler after he was hospitalized. We also shared an interest in classical Greek philosophy, and I read several of his writings. My memory of Victor is of an "old school" very competent scholar, highly civilized, warmly personable, with a touch of class.
Sincerely,
David Dilworth
Stony Brook Professor of Philosophy
