Donald E. Yacoe

YACOE - Donald E., of Honolulu, HI, a Professor Emeritus of Art, died Sunday, June 14, 2009, in Newburgh NY. He was 85. Don was born November 22, 1923 in Chicago IL. During WWII he was a Staff Artist with the 8th Army in the Pacific Theatre. After getting his Masters degree at the Art Institute of Chicago he taught for over 20 years at C.W. Post College of Long Island University, at Adelphi and Hofstra Universities, on Long Island and at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Survivors include his wife Caroline in Honolulu, HI; son, Joseph Yacoe of Sag Harbor, NY; daughter Jennifer Yacoe Fischer of Montgomery, NY, stepson Terry Green of McLean, VA, and stepdaughter Melissa Green of Honolulu, HI.
