Dear Family: I worked with Richie in the NYPD many years ago. He had a great sense of humor and brightened our days working together. This helped on those late tours of duty. he was proud of his Army Service in Vietnam and how he overcame his challenges. He will be truly missed. My sincere condolences. Kevin G. My first memory wasof Dawn tellingme about this great fellow"Richie the Cop" When I met him I was introduced to a very loving man who was full of life and humor as well as compassion for others. We chuckled because his glasses were broken and because of our GREAT health insurance he could not get them fixed. He was always adjusting them while telling you a story and he always had an ear to lend and a strong handshake to offer. When I first got my boat I took it over to Fire Island to show Richie. I spoke with him recently and he was at peace with his situation. I lovingly put him on our Church's prayer list and kept him in my prayers every day. He was so proud of his children and I am sending my heartfelt wishes to all of you at this difficult time. I'll miss Richie, but I know he'll be in heaven patrolling on his Schwinn bicycle, basket, flashlight and bell at all times. God Bless you Richie and may His blessings be felt by your family.

Richie was a very special person in our lives - both individually and together - for 20 years. He gave so freely of himself to all he encountered and was a great power of example. To his children, please accept our deepest sympathy. He loved you more than anything and was so very proud of each of you. May he rest in peace.

Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of your father. I met him many years ago and we became good friends. Though we did not see each other every day or every week, we were always able to pick up where we left off, and I knew I could always count on him if I needed a friend. He was there for me numerous times and I hope my love and support helped him through his tough times as well. I also had the privilege of giving him his lighter at one of his anniversaries.
I moved to NJ a few years ago and haven't seen Richie since. I only had the opportunity to speak with him once over the last several months, but he was always in my thoughts and prayers.
My last fond memory of Richie was at my wedding when he and I danced the Polka! I didn't know he was such a good dancer and so light on his feet!
God Bless you and your family in your time of sorrow and know that he is at peace - also, he will always be with you.
Richie will be sorely missed by many, many individuals who's lives he touched.
Sincerely,
Maryann Czerniawski-Miranda

I met Richie on a Sunday afternoon many years ago. We have been friends ever since that day. Our experiences paralleled one another with the passing years, and I was honored to speak in his honor on the 25th anniversary of that long ago meeting. Several years later he honored me by speaking on my behalf. I will never forget his ability to "work the room" with his tremendous sense of, & ability to deliver humor and bring laughter to large bodies of people.
I am grateful for his having been a part of my life, and extend to you my deepest sympathy on your loss..
Your father will be sorely missed by many.
In fellowship;
