MOWRY — Anna Jeanette Wolfgang, 78, formerly of Mowry, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, at the Mount Carmel Nursing Center.
She was born in Mowry Nov. 3, 1938, a daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth Sell Wolfgang.
She was a graduate of the former Ashland High School, Class of 1956, where she was known as the quietest member of her class and was a member of the school chorus and the Tri-HI-Y club.
Jeanette worked in the garment industry her entire life. She was a trimmer for the former Mount Carmel Blouse Company and retired from the J. K. Company, Kulpmont. She was a life member of the International Ladies Garment Worker's Union.
She was a life member of the former St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Lavelle, and most recently a member of Christ's United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland. An active member of the church, she sang in the choir, was a member of the Lutheran Church Ladies, also known as W.E.L.C.A., and served as indoor custodian for many years.
She is survived by two sisters, Jean Cress, of Mount Carmel, and Ruth Wolfgang, of Mount Carmel; a brother, Walter Wolfgang, of Mount Carmel; nieces, Sally, wife of Erik Tice, of Mowry, and Carrie, wife of Russ Hummel, of Ashland; and nephews, John Wolfgang and his wife, Maryann, of Mowry, and Raymond Wolfgang and his wife, Linda, of Mount Carmel.
Preceding her in death were sisters, Elizabeth Wetzel and Emma Wolfgang; brothers, James, Luther, Lester, Milton, Ralph, Raymond and Russell Wolfgang; and nephews, Otto and Alex Wolfgang.
WOLFGANG — Anna Jeanette Wolfgang, 78, formerly of Mowry. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a religious funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, from Christ's United Lutheran Church, 437 Airport Road, Ashland. The Rev. Dr. Kim L. Lengert will officiate. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service in the church. Burial will follow at Citizen's Cemetery, Lavelle.
