Breanna Klann Obituary

Breanna Dawn (Mann) Klann, 30, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin and friend of so many, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 31, 2017, from injuries sustained in a tragic snowmachine accident. Her loving family surrounded her as she slipped away from this world.
She was the middle child of Randy and Jean Mann born May 16, 1987, in Fairbanks, where she spent her childhood years growing up with her brothers, Brandon and Dawson, and a multitude of cousins. In fact, as a baby she and her cousins made front-page news in Fairbanks and national news when seven of them were born within a nine-month stretch. It was ordained, from birth, that she be part of a large and amazing family.
Breanna was a delightful baby and brought untold joy into her family home from the day she arrived. She was deemed a true princess and could be found with a pink bow in her hair at all times, but that didn't stop her from learning to ride a snowmachine at age 2. And as time would tell, that began her lifelong love of the outdoors and all the activities associated with it.
She attended grade school at Denali Elementary and Chinook Charter School and later attended Ryan Junior High and Lathrop High School, where she graduated with the class of 2005. Breanna enjoyed every minute of those years spending time with her lifelong friends and family. She always found time to work. Her first job was at Kelley Insurance, and she also loved being a manager for her brother Brandon's hockey team. Everyone at school knew "the hot girl with the hot truck" because of her friendly, outgoing personality, but also because of her license plate that proudly sported her nickname "Breez." In her senior year, her classmates voted her the "Chick with the Hottest Truck" as her senior superlative title. Then it was on to college to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse.
Breanna moved to Anchorage to finish her degree at University of Alaska Anchorage, graduating as a registered nurse in 2012. It was no surprise that becoming a nurse was a perfect fit for her considering the person she had become and her big heart. Even before she earned her degree, Breanna did home care. Two of those lucky people were Chuck and Erdie, a couple who became treasured friends as she assisted them daily.
During her college years, she met the two loves of her life: Kevin and his son, Ashton. When Kevin was asked how they met and what drew him to her, he said it was in a coffee shop and that she was beautiful, but it was that smile of hers.
They became a family of three when Breanna married Kevin on July 31, 2010. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that she loved them both with her whole heart.
And as it went … they all lived a good life together - camping, snowmachining, four-wheeling, going on a cruise and having adventures whenever they could. Breanna was not much of a homebody; she loved to go places and do things with her family. She also spent many of her formative years out on adventures with her father and family at the Mann Clan cabin, earning her the title of "Cabin Girl." Even their wedding in Denali Park was an adventure, and everyone said it was one of the best weddings ever. Just by being there she made all gatherings fun.
Breanna loved being a mother and she loved Ashton from the first time she laid eyes on him. They frequently went on many adventures of their own whether it was berry picking or train rides. She loved taking him on these adventures and as a true son, he went, whether he liked it or not!
After Kevin and Breanna married, they moved to Wasilla. Breanna worked her first job as a nurse at Providence Hospital in Anchorage. In Fairbanks, she went worked for Fairbanks Memorial Hospital in labor and delivery, where she became the day shift clinical manager. As it was everywhere she went, everyone loved her and she especially loved being able to help deliver her friends' and families' babies. She also made it her business to go see those friends she knew who were staying in any part of the hospital. It was said that she was like an angel coming to visit, sometimes in the middle of the night, gently comforting those in need. She had found her dream job.
Recently, a friend referred to Breanna as "a beacon of light," and her cousin Brittany spoke the truth when she said, "She left a piece of her soul with everyone she encountered." Breanna, there will never be another one like you; you are a star that shined so bright and left us too soon. We are blessed to have known you.
Breanna left behind many loved ones:
Her husband, Kevin, and son Ashton; parents, Randy and Jean Mann; brothers, Brandon (Elizabeth) Mann and Dawson Mann; father- and mother-in-law, Norman and Scottie Klann; brother and sister-in-law, Kris Klann and Kathryn Klann; grandfather Tony Resch; grandparents, Jack and Judy Mann; nieces and nephews, Brody Mann, Andrue Skepersky, Judah Brown, Isla Brown; and a wealth of cousins and longtime friends.
She was preceded in death by grandmothers, Clara Resch and Frieda Resch; uncle and aunt, Dennis and Bev Wilson; uncle and aunt, Wayne and Bobby Mann; uncle, Bob Ley; aunt, Diana Sellin; aunt, Florence Smith; and cousins, Jason Ley and Jeremy Paapke.
Please join us for a celebration of Breanna's life at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at Chief David Salmon Tribal Hall, 111 Clay St., Fairbanks.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Breanna's name to the Perinatal Bereavement Program at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, in care of the Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 71396 Fairbanks, AK 99707.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Brianna at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and found her to be a wonderful caring nurse. She would often work extra shifts because we were short staffed. She was always spot on in caring for her patients She was definitely if not the best, one of the best nurses I've ever worked with. Sincerely,

Breanna was truly one of a kind. She was very loving and caring. Her smile brightened everyone's day wherever she went. She was very special to my parents, Kathy and Merlin. My mom and Breanna shared a birthday month so I remember them having little birthday celebrations together. She was also very kind to my dad after my mom passed in 1996. She kept in touch with him with cards and visited him when she was in Fairbanks. She also helped me through a scary time with breast cancer. She was supportive with phone calls and a visit. I loved her and will miss her!

My most sincere condolences to Brianna's family and friends. I worked with Brianna at the Women's Center at FMH, and I can say that nurses, and people, don't come any better. She was a fabulous nurse who was a blessing to the patients she cared for, and an inspiration to the staff she worked with. I was always impressed with her organizational, problem solving, and leadership abilities, and it was always such a pleasure to have her on the unit as one of our stellar charge nurses. She leaves a void that is immeasurable. I pray for comfort and peace for her family.

Gone too soon but never forgotten. Our loving Creator keeps those who passed, in his memory because they are precious to him. (Psalm 116:15)

Our family was richly blessed by Breanna when she came into our lives at only 18 years old to take care of our mother, Erdie Brodahl.

Breanna had a special gift to somehow break through mom's Alzheimer's with her gentle touch and her wonderful, warm smile.

When Breanna came into their home, the atmosphere was immediately transformed and brightened with her cheerful personality.

Our dad, Chuck Brodahl, also looked forward to when Breanna would arrive radiating sunshine and warmth 12 years ago and more recently when they would get together for lunch when Kevin, Ashton & Breanna would visit from Fairbanks.

We will miss Breanna here on earth but picture Erdie with outstretched arms welcoming Breanna to heaven!
