What a great lady! Such a beautiful spirit and person! Oh sweet this Legacy book keeps her alive for all of us!
Such a great athlete she was! She and my husband Dick loved being at the children’s basketball games. Both from the east coast and both athletes. Coach Dick Christopher ( at Fairview HS w her... she was basketball and he was football and baseball ) just passed on March 8. Amy and I miss him terribly but know he is out of pain and is up there w your Mom and they are playing a round of basketball. ♀♂
Take comfort in your Moms memories and her love for you!
Sincerely
Maureen and Amy Christopher

We met Faye in the late 90's here in Colorado. What a kind and humble person she was! Our daughter Any played basketball and Faye would give her many tips and suggestions. My husband, who was a football coach at the time with a keen interest in kinesiology, would discuss proper fundamentals of the game with her.
Such a beautiful lady. We are so sorry for your loss! We pray for you and your brother! Just know she was so very proud of you both!

Sam and Chaney - We are so brokenhearted to hear of Faye's passing. We have so many so many wonderful memories from Ithaca. Your mom was an amazing woman. And I am so blessed to have her friendship especially as young mothers raising our kids, scheduling play dates for the kids and wine nights for us. She touched so many lives. Her smile and presence would light up a room. Thoughts, prayers and love for you both and your family. Sue, Jim, Megan, Kylie and Mackenzie Burness

Sam and Chaney I worked with your Mom on many PTA projects and with the "Trash to Treasure" sales at Cayuga Heights. We had many laughs together sitting on the floor by the cafeteria over some of the crazy stuff people donated. She took many baskets of children's clothing home to launder for that first sale. I admired her very much for that unselfish gesture. We were determined we we're selling dirty and worn out items and your Mom made sure we didn't. Years later were took a CPR class together and again laughed at ourselves and that sale all over again. You are her legacy. Her beautiful intoxicating smile
and unselfish character will be greatly missed! Deb Reukauf (Ithaca, NY)

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Faye's family. She was an inspiration to so many people. The Wolfpack Women nation has truly lost a pioneer who was instrumental in establishing this great program in its early infancy. Thank you, Faye.

When my son was young, I went with him to the Cayuga Heights Elementary School to play basketball. After a few minutes, a woman we didn't know came up to us and asked if she could shoot around with us. We welcomed her to join us and soon realized that we were completely outclassed. After about an hour of total humiliation she explained her background to us. We came to know Faye and family over the years at the school and always enjoyed our conversations at CTB while getting our morning coffee. Faye was a wonderful, bright and pleasant woman who will be sincerely missed by all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

We are saddened by Faye's passing. It has been a privaledge to call Faye a friend for over 35 years. She had a very calming way, gentle and compassionate, although very much a fierce competitor. I will remember her smile and warm hugs. May she rest in peace and may her family be comforted by the way she lived and loved.

I was Sam's first grade teacher at Cayuga Heights for 1/2 the year. Chaney and Sam, your mom was very involved at school and we stayed in contact for many years (Usually at Wegmans). We lost touch, and I didn't know she was sick. She was a very special person and she was always so proud of both of you. I'm not sure where you both live, but my thoughts are with both of you. If there is a memorial service for her in Ithaca, please let me know. (Ms. Firman) Jill Hellerman. (607.227.6179)

Met Faye coaching AAU basketball. Then became colleagues coaching another HS team. I was amazed at how much she taught her girls. How to be young women. Hold their head high, shoulders straight and play hard and clean.. The right way. I loved Faye. We became friends over the years and I could see her influence in all her kids. One time I held the door open for her JV team and every single young lady said thank you.. That's not by accident. That's because Faye taught them how to carry themselves. Her impact on these young ladies will last a generation.. Miss you Faye, the game will miss you and every young girl that laces them up will miss you...

Chaney and Sam; I'm very sorry to learn of your mom's passing. Her approach to competitive athletics and the lessons she taught to many young women during her tenure with the Ithaca High Girls Basketball Program were a gift. A gift those blessed to have been coached by her will appreciate more as the years go by.
Rest in a well deserved peace, Faye.
