I knew Bob when I was a Professors at NC in 1981-2. I later interacted a bit when he was a a Professor at Case Western. He was an outstanding researcher, professor and administration, but I could never forget his great sense of humor and ability to have fun when he was not working. Even though I have not interacted much with Bob over the last 20 years I am saddened by his loss, but some of the memories from the past remain.

Dr. Trew was my teacher several years ago, while I was a graduate student at NC State. He brought a lot of passion and interest in all he taught, and was kind, compassionate, and accommodating to his students - he taught because he loved to impart knowledge, and enjoyed teaching. He will be sorely missed, but he has left behind an extraordinary legacy.
