Thomas David Zweigart died of ALS on November 23, 2016. Tom was born November 19, 1947 in Columbus, OH to Thomas Frederick Zweigart, Jr. and Gina Dusi Zweigart. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy W. Zweigart, sons Warren C. Zweigart (Allison), William F. Zweigart (Divya) and granddaughter Anna Christian Zweigart as well as siblings Lynn Zweigart, Cynthia Winter, Gretel Easter, Daniel Zweigart, Liese Zweigart and Andrea Zweigart.
Tom attended Cathedral Elementary, Cardinal Gibbons Memorial HS, N.C. State University and N.C. Central School of Law.
He served as a Military Policeman in the 805th MP Company. Tom was employed as a State ABC Officer and graduated from the Raleigh Police Academy. He was a member of the Wake County Bar for 35 years and retired from the North Carolina Attorney General's Office as a Special Deputy Attorney General. Tom was an Assistant Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 207 for over 25 years and a longtime member of the Hillsborough St YMCA. He was a member of Highland United Methodist Church. The family will hold a private memorial service.

Very sorry to hear today of Tom's passing. I enjoyed working with him at the NCDOI for several years. My condolences to the family.

We were saddened by Tom's passing. He was a very dear friend. Tom was a kind and gentle man - always willing to help you with detailed problems. He loved Kure Beach, and was so proud of his new home there. God bless Tom and his family during this time of grief. We will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Nancy. Rhonda and Jim Ring
