Helen Sutton Waller Williams, age 94, of 3087 Hwy 58 South, Kinston died Friday, September 26, 2014 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC. She was predeceased by her parents Lottie Sutton Waller and Millard Fillmore Waller, eight brothers, and her husband, David Paul Williams. Survivors include her daughters, Jane Haywood Williams and Mickey Adkins of Kinston, NC; Nancy Paul Williams Ross and husband Keith of Kernersville, NC and grandson Thomas Williams Ross. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Thelma Williams, Meta Mae Kennedy, Betty Jane Jackson and a host of special nieces, nephews, and friends. Mrs. Williams graduated from High Point College in 1940, and then worked for Tomlinson Furniture in High Point. She supported WWII efforts by working for the National Youth Administration and providing administrative services on an army air base in Wilmington, NC. She also worked for the Kinston Daily Free Press and Kinston Chamber of Commerce prior to becoming a full time homemaker. Mrs. Williams was a faithful member of Woodington United Methodist Church. A private graveside and memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the caregivers who provided her with wonderful and loving care at her home. Arrangements are with Edwards Funeral Home.
