Mary Styers Obituary
Durham
Mary Rieves Styers, age 96, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at Carver Living Center in Durham.
Mary was born in Madison, NC, to the late Jesse C. Lassiter and Blanche R. Lassiter. She was a loving and dedicated mother, having provided care for her late daughter, Lynn Styers for over 40 years.
Mary was an avid watercolor artist alongside her late husband, William Harold Styers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harold Styers, and her daughters, Susan Styers Miles and Lynn Lassiter Styers.
Mary is survived by her son-in-law, James Miles and wife, Shirley; her grandson, Jason Miles and wife, Kristina, and great grandchildren Olive and Vera Miles.
Graveside services will be held 11:00am Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Woodland Cemetery, Madison, NC with the Rev. John Atkins officiating.

What a wonderful lady! My Mother Joy was at Carver and Mary befriended her early on. She showed such compassion to my Mother.
