Shawn Middlebrooks, 34, of Apex, N.C., passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020.
Mr. Middlebrooks was a graduate of Hampden-Sydney (VA) College, and the North Carolina Central University School of Law, where he earned his juris doctor degree in 2011. He is survived by his wife Jessica, their two daughters, Victoria and Olivia, his mother, Mrs. Carolyn Middlebrooks of Savannah, GA, and two brothers, Nicholas Middlebrooks of Savannah, GA., and Warren Middlebrooks Jr. of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Middlebrooks Sr., also of Savannah, GA.
Memorial service that was scheduled for Saturday, July 11, 2020 has been postponed due to COVID-19. A service will be held at a later date. The funeral home is requesting that all attendees wear a face covering or mask for the viewing and service per the state guidelines to avoid any potential spread of COVID-19.

Shawn was a model student-athlete at H-SC. He worked hard and was focused. We were members of the same recruiting class of 2008 and through his unique mix of wit and honesty, he helped me adjust to the intensity of collegiate sports. I owe him a lot, and pray for his wife and children. Much love, Shawn!

Our deepest condolences go out to the Middlebrooks Family. Shawn was a son to us. He was a compassionate and respectful young man, who loved his Family dearly. Shawn was physically and mentally tough and an all-round great guy. We will keep the memories of the times he spent with our family and the sports activities he shared with our sons in our hearts forever.

Shawn was an outstanding student at Memorial Day School in Savannah. Everyone, and I mean his peers and his teachers, loved Shawn. He was a brilliant and respectful young man that we knew was going to be successful.
We were honored to have Shawn return to Memorial Day School to give the commencement speech to the Class of 2014.
Our condolences to his brothers Warren and Nicholas, his mother, wife Jessica and his two daughters.

Much peace and love to the Middlebrooks family. Shawn was a colleague and above all a friend. He treated everyone in the courtroom with respect and dignity when he was a district attorney. Shawn and I kept in touch after he left the district attorneys office. He always talked about his wife and beautiful baby girls. He loved them so much. He would always encourage my husband and I to have a baby. I wish I could share a photo of my baby girl with him now. The world has lost a fine human. He will be dearly missed.
