Duke,
Rarely a day goes by that I don't think of you. A brother from another mother and your incessant assessment of "how things are" in today's world. Your insight into people and what motivates them. I miss ya, buddy. But you are now eternal and forever in the minds and hearts of those who loved you.

Duke,
You are sorely missed, my friend. It grieves me that you left us too soon and that we will never be able to "yell at kids" from the porch while we drink iced tea in our 80´s. But knowing you is one of the richest experiences of my life, sharing bad jokes, good jokes, remembering high school days and you explaining to me details about New Milford I never would have known otherwise. You taught me to fly which is the greatest gift I ever got from anyone. I always made you laugh when I casually said, "Who´s the best pilot you ever saw?", a line from "The Right Stuff" that we both kidded about. The time spent in your awesome Cessnas is time I will always treasure for the rest of my days. Always the forward-thinker, you would compliment me when I was down and bring me back to reality. There is no way I could ever thank you enough. You must now keep heaven in order and your wings are earned. May God always keep you and hold you near.

Duke,
I miss you buddy. The many laughs we shared and love of aviation too. I met so many fine people because of you and also because you were the finest of men I ever knew.
I thank you forever for the flying lessons and the great times we had.

May God find you and keep you close.

I met Duke through our mutual friend Nic Marsicano. Duke gave one of the greatest gifts that I've ever been given. He took me up in his own plane and allowed me to take control and fly his plane while giving me instructions. It was one of the greatest thrills of my life, and when he told me that I was a natural, it was one of the greatest honors. I will never forget Duke or that flight and I will cherish him and the incredible gift that he gave to me and the incredible gifts that he brought to the sky and land. Duke will remain in my heart of hearts an honorable and gracious man. God Bless Duke.

Duke and I shared a lot of laughs and some tears. He taught me to fly but more importantly, he taught me to laugh. His wit and genuine nature made him the most likable person I ever knew. He could be serious one moment and the very next, have you laughing til you cried. I will miss him all the rest of my life. I owe him many thanks for his helpful and thoughtful advice and his kindness over more than 40 years. Fly high, my friend; You are free.

You've left behind a legacy of kindness, and you've left behind many people who will love you and who will carry your memory in our hearts until we meet with you again someday.

Duke there are no words to fully express how much I will miss you. The nights that we got to sit around and sing together and the days we spent chasing the wind in your Cessna are some of my most cherished memories. I'm not sure how to move forward from here, but I know I must and I know you would want me to. You are forever a song in my heart, that rests on the wind, that whispers through the pines and soars over the water. Rest peacefully dear friend and brother.

The wave of shock, disbelief and pain that has a grip on me is incredible! I had the honor of knowing such a great man through the pilot's shop at Sky Acres. His kindness, humor and upbeat attitude always made me smile.
Duke, you don't need a plane to soar any longer. You are with the Lord and the angels. Wait for us, Duke. We will all meet again one day...but not just yet.
