Forrest took a chance on me with no degree and no experience and gave me my first newspaper job. We worked together from 1970-1972 when I left to travel the world and send columns back to The News-Times from South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Then, years later, unsolicited, he wrote another editor to recommend that he look me up for a vacancy he had. Forrest Palmer was a classy man in my book. I will never forget him.

Forrest Palmer is to be remembered as CHIEFTAIN of Danbury News Times. He represented the highest achievement of all journalists and now eulogized as best of best and beyond. I'm indebted to Forrest Palmer for his dynamic personality and fortitude starting as paperboy to subject of news features in News-Times.
