Nicholas Clairmont Obituary

DOVER - Nicholas E. Clairmont passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at the Delaware Veterans Home, Milford. Mr. Clairmont was born July 21, 1930 in Troy, N.Y. to the late Leo and Prudence Clairmont. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, where he was a Jet Engine Mechanic where he also taught engine mechanics. Mr. Clairmont was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at Price Honda in Dover for many years. He volunteered for the U.S.O. Mr. Clairmont was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover. He enjoyed baseball and football especially the Washington Redskins and New York Mets. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Teresa. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Marion Hicks Clairmont of Hubbardston, Mass.; sons, Michael Clairmont of Viola, Del., David Clairmont of Dover, Del.; daughters, Cathy Johnson and Denise Downey both of American Caynon, Calif.; brother, Leo Clairmont of Grandville, N.Y. Funeral services will be held noon Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to U.S.O., 500 Purple Heart Way, DAFB, Delaware 19902 or Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
