Calvin Stephenson Obituary
Mr. Stephenson was born on Mar. 22, 1965, in Fort Dix, N.J. to Robert Stephenson and Betty Young (Cressey).
He studied industrial mechanics at Delaware Technical Community College and went on to work as an Industrial Mechanic and IT Technician at Hirsh Industries, Inc. for 29 years, retiring in Feb. of 2017. His hobbies included RC cars, playing competitive poker, watching NASCAR specifically Kevin Harvick. Mr. Stephenson was also a movie fanatic and a Star Trek and Star Wars fan. He was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed his family very much.
In addition to his father, Mr. Stephenson was preceded in death by his step-father, Fred Cressey; step-mother, Evelyn Stephenson; mother-in-law, Judy Smith; father-in-law, Ralph Smith; and a nephew, Taylor Stephenson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Karen Stephenson; son, James Stephenson; brother, Robert Stephenson; brother-in-laws, Stephen Smith, Darren Smith, Jose Sosa and Ron Brouillette; sisters, Wanda Brouillette, and Linda Dudeck; sister-in-laws, Robin Stephenson, Donna Smith, Vicky Sosa, Donna L. Smith, Lisa Smith; nieces and nephews, Jessica Short, Harper Short, Heather Bartlett, Robert "Bobby" Stephenson, Heather Stephenson, Lane Stephenson, Sarah Smith, Shane Smith, David Minzer, Alexandria Minzer, Alan Peinado, Ryan Brouillette, Jason Brouillette, Stephen Brouillette, Kristen Kackenmeister, Catherin Kackenmeister, and Cameron Kackenmeister; his four legged family, Charlie, Sakura, Luna, Oscar and Jack.
A celebration of life will be held 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct., 4, 2017 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd. (Rt 10). Friends may call one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be sent to the Prostate Cancer Foundation in his honor, Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 Fourth Street Santa Monica, CA 90401.
