John was a brilliant doctor and a great friend! He is really missed by all our colleagues as well!

John will certainly be missed for his wit, intelligence, sense of humor and unconventionality. He was generous, fun, and great to be around. He was a true original in the world of oncology and I am so sad that he is gone so early. Rest well John and where ever you are, I'm sure you're showing them how to do it in style.

My sincere condolences to John's family. I shared many classes with John at Notre Dame and cherished his friendship.

John , Michael Colacino and I used to study in the Kline biology tower on Hillhouse avenue while we were at Notre Dame. He was a very intelligent and sensitive soul - Michael and I used to argue and John was always the peacemaker, the one trying to bring us to the middle. I am surprised to hear of his early death - he was the epitome of health. God bless his soul. Joe Pellegrino 73
