I will always remember Gary and my neighbor John Coyle discussing the album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" in the back yard! We were 12! The song was "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds"

I happened to call Pete Casey this morning and he told me about Gary's passing. Gary and I would sometimes hang out together when we were kids. He was a world-class storyteller and wore a mischievous grin. Ten years ago, I wrote a 6,000-word story about our dealings with a huge snapping turtle and the bite it gave Gary when we were 12. Ward and Mrs. Kenny, if you would like a copy of it (I never submitted it for publication), I'd be glad to send a copy to you. Though I hadn't seen Gary for 40 years, I remember him as a character - a real personality, and a good guy.
