Stanton W. Merriam

Stanton W. Merriam died at Yale New Haven Hospital on September 14, 2017, beloved husband of Penny (Phyllis) Naiman Merriam, devoted father of Michael and Lynn Merriam and David and Erika Merriam; cherished grandfather of Alexa, Rachel, Kaitlin, and Matthew Merriam; son of the late Philip and Elsie Gomberg Merriam; brother of Myra Kleiman; and brother-in-law of Ronald and Cynthia Naiman. Born in New Haven February 7, 1934. Stan graduated from Hillhouse High School and was awarded a full scholarship to Yale, where he received a Bachelor of Engineering degree. He was a publicity chairman for the area Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and was a member of the Army Reserve, qualifying as a sharpshooter. Stan retired from the Southern New England Telephone Company after more than 30 years where he served as a manager in various departments: engineering, information systems and accounting. Funeral Services will be held at B'nai Jacob Memorial Park, 200 Wintergreen Ave, New Haven, on SUNDAY morning September 17, at 11:00 o'clock. Period of mourning will be Private.
