Martha Walker Obituary
Martha G. Loukides Walker, 55, of Unionville, beloved wife of Pastor Christopher T. Walker, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 24, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born April 3, 1963 in New Haven, she was the daughter of the Michael and Audrey (Weller) Loukides.
Martha was a graduate of Hamden High School (1982), Swarthmore College (1986) and UCONN Graduate School of Social Work (2015). She worked at The John B. Pierce Laboratory, the Consultation Center at Yale, Yale Psychiatric Institute, the Focus Center for Autism in Canton and the Wheeler Family Health and Wellness Center in Hartford. She served on the PTO at Union School and as an Elder at Bethel Christian Church in Bristol for many years. She loved to care for others. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, hiking and canoeing.
Besides her husband, Martha is survived by her three children, Josiah C. Walker, Zion S. Walker and Seraphim J. Walker, her mother, Audrey Loukides, and her four brothers, Michael Loukides, David Loukides, Timothy Loukides and John Loukides.
Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Friday (Feb. 8) from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Saturday (Feb. 9) at 11:00 a.m. in Bethel Christian Church, 750 Stevens Street, Bristol. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Avon. In keeping with her passion to help the underserved, gifts may be made in memory online at wheelerclinic.org/giving or by mail to Wheeler Clinic, Office of Philanthropy, 91 Northwest Drive, Plainville, CT 06062. I am so deeply sorry to hear of the loss of Martha! She was a friend and a housemate at Swarthmore and I have often thought of her and remembered her fondly! She was a beautiful and sweet soul and I know that she will be missed by so many. My deepest and sincerest condolences for your loss!

She is/was an amazing, beautiful woman of God. May her husband and children call her 'Blessed'. It was a blessing to know her. Although, she will be greatly missed here, I can imagine her beautiful spirit; free in HEAVEN, twirling in fields of gold in the presence of our Heavenly Father, our Christ, and all the Heavenly angels and loved ones she may have there, already. I pray peace, and God's glory to cover the family through this time of missing her. I pray you have all of her love to fill your hearts as a lifetime of memories that she gave to you, especially her children and husband. May God bless you and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you with His gracious glory. May He bring you His favor, joy, love and peace all of the days of your life, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Martha's life impacted many people - both personally and professionally.
Whether inside or outside of the family, it is important to note that the love she lived blessed all who knew her. It is exciting to note that blessing like that are passed on, exponentially, from generation to generation.
