CLAUDIA GUNTHER Obituary

GUNTHER, CLAUDIA Claudia Gunther, 62, of Satellite Beach, passed away peacefully in her home on Oct. 9, 2016 after a long time battle with chronic illness. She was born on Feb. 18, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY. Claudia touched many lives in her time on Earth. Anyone who knew her can attest that she was truly one of a kind. She had a brilliant mind, which allowed her to connect with people from all different walks of life. She was a gifted artist, leaving behind many soulful paintings to be appreciated. She had an amazing sense of humor, and could be counted on for a good laugh when least expected and most needed. As a devout Catholic, she had a strong faith in God that carried her through to her final moments. Above all, she had a deeply compassionate and generous heart, which will be sorely missed by friends and loved ones. She is survived by her son; Christopher Grant, mother; Teresa Gunther, siblings; Robert Gunther, Mary Gunther, and William Gunther. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus, Indialantic on Saturday, October 29 at 10:30 am. A private committal service will be held at the Alderbrook Cemetery in Guilford, CT on Tuesday, November 1st. Claudia’s memorial page may be visited at www.beachfuneralhome.com.

Oh Claudia, what fun you were and wonderfully wicked in the delightful sense. I remember you from early days at Calvin Leete School and breaking rocks in Bloody cove, no more than 10 years old. We were able to reconnect again in High school and not much had changed in our friendship. Irreverent and challenging we had so much fun. Surviving weird relationships and a miriad of jobs, we were similar in so many ways. And I can see that you were this for many other people. I spoke with you only last year. How fabulous that we got a final connection. You will live on in my memories as a brave woman. May you rest now with out pain and trials. Go and fly now.
Love love love

It never gets easier, when a loved one passes. But one must remember that grief only occurs with true and deep love. Claudia was an 'old soul' way ahead of her time. An infectious laugh and a true love for life, which kept her spirit alive. A spiritual soul with a faith which fueled her days till her end.

May her family and friends find peace in knowing she has now met her maker, and free from all illness and pain ~ Rest in Peace, Claude ... You will always live in our hearts and prayers.

Love to all of the family at this trying time. There are no words to ease your pain other than to know she is no longer in pain.

Claudia was an exceptional woman. She dealt with a lot of pain and suffering and most the time she did it with grace. She taught me a lot about how to deal with my own chronic illness. She will be forever in my heart. Her family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
