Dot,
I wanted you to know I left memories on his obituary (https://www.legacy.com/amp/obituaries/tributes/193127352) and want you to know that he is missed by my wife and me. I hope you are well and that life is kind to you.

Dot, if you ever look at these, my sincere condolences to you. I never got to know you well, and I hope life has been kind to you. I remember Otto fondly, and I wish I had made the effort to reconnect long ago. I have had few real friends in my life, and I count Otto among them. He gave me respect and encouragement at a time I needed it most, even though I did not. Too often we see these things in hindsight as we are blinded by out own turmoil. Otto was one of the rare ones, seeing through the fog of life and getting to the root of things. I count myself lucky, because he shared a portion of his life with me. Be safe, and be well Dot.

I remember Otto fondly, we had many fun filled gaming hours and great conversation. I still tell people about the Kingdom of Atholl and all the Athollians who made our gaming nights interesting. I remember how Two Bears became Two Beers and we all giggled for hours. I also remember how he was a generous and kind soul who gave sage advice and genuinely wanted good things for others. I often wondered how his life went after I rejoined the military back in 1989, and I regret never looking until now. I always wanted to tell him I got that college degree and guess what...in Philosophy. You influenced my life in many ways and I will always remember you. Fair winds and following seas old friend, may the miniatures ever be painted bright, and the rules ever be challenged by an enterprising player with whimsical strategies.
