Chester Allen Cooper

1936 - 2023

Chester Allen Cooper September 17, 1936 - May 13, 2023 Chester "Chet" Allen Cooper born September 17, 1936, passed on May 13, 2023 peacefully in his sleep. He was born in Williston, N.D. to Kenneth Cooper and Clara (Hanson) on a farm. His family moved to Medical Lake when he was twelve where he attended school and left for the US Air Force at age seventeen. Served employment at ESH, Medical Lake Elementary, Holy Family Hospital of Spokane, Burlington Northern Railroad, for local farmers (the Rosenau's). He and his wife Patricia moved to Roslyn May 17, 1980 after they purchased the Office Tavern which they owned and operated as a staple in the Roslyn community for nineteen years. The day after their move they endured the eruption Mt. St. Helen's. Chet retired from Central Washington University. He loved fishing, snowmobiling, master gardening, and caring for his cats. Charley, who walked to the post office each day with him, was his favorite. He was preceded in death by his parents and sibling, Clarice (Gerald) Mason, Kerwin, Robert, and Ernest of Walla Walla area. He succeeded Patricia and children William (Kelly) Dean of Topeka, KS; Margaret Jenkins of Renton, WA; Cynthia (Steve) Cooper of Cle Elum, WA; and Kenneth (Lisa) Cooper of Roslyn, WA, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews of Spokane, Walla Walla, WA and Western N.D.; seventeen grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren of Topeka, KS, Dallas, TX, Renton, Roslyn, Airway Heights, and Longview, WA. His best friend, Tricky Dicky Rosenau of Cheney, WA was like a brother to him. Always having a treat in hand, he loved watching his family grow, giving them a place to call home, and willing to lend a hand to help others. Chet is remembered and missed by many.
