Terry Carter Obituary
Terry attended Cle Elum High School; she met the love of her life Joseph (Joey) Carter. They were married in December of 1973. This union gave them four beautiful children. Sheri Renee was born in October of 1974 follow by Kelly, Josh, and Jared.
Terry was a wonderful wife and mother. She was so proud of each of her children and of each of their accomplishments. There was never a question of the importance of family, she looked forward to the many family dinners she prepared over the years not to mention the family gatherings over the holidays. Though having responsibility as head baker at the Sunset, she always had time for her family and friends.
Together Joey and Terry owned and operated the Sunset Cafe for many years. Terry enjoyed cooking but mostly baking all the wonderful desserts that locals and passersby came to enjoy over the years.
Terry had a love for travel. She and the family took many trips to Disneyland and Hawaii, her eyes would light up when she talked about how much fun the grandkids had. She was always ready for a trip to Vegas; she was one lucky lady at the slots!
Terry was a woman of faith, in the 90's Terry joined the Catholic church along with husband Joey and daughter Kelly. She was strong in that faith and her actions spoke much louder than words.
Terry is survived by her husband Joey, daughter Kelly (Jeremy) Hink, sons; Josh (Nicole) Carter and Jared (Ashley Palmer) Carter, and Shane Peterson. She is also survived by her mother Sharon Wilcox, brothers; John Coonce, Nick Coonce and Brian Wilcox and eleven beautiful grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 303 W 2nd St., Cle Elum, WA 98922. Reception immediately following the service, in the church hall.
