Mildred Carlaw Obituary

Mildred (Calvisky) Carlaw Mildred Marie (Calvisky) Carlaw 95, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones in her home in Paradise, Montana on June 4, 2023.

She was born December 3, 1927 in Cle Elum, Washington to William and Susan Calvisky.

As a teen, Millie worked at the Economy Grocery and Vogue Theatre. She graduated high school in 1945 and later married Allen Carlaw of Seattle. During Allen's service in the Army, they travelled all over the U.S. including extended stays in Texas, North Carolina, and Alaska. Following their travels, they resided in the Seattle/Tacoma area where they raised their four children.

Mildred was a charter member of the John Knox Presbyterian Church in Normandy Park, Washington where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. Her faith and family were her passion. She was non-judgmental, and accepted people as they were, welcoming to all. She lovingly cared for her family members and her many animals over the years.

She is survived by her four children, Barry (75), Allen (71), Cherylee (69), and Tim (59), 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Grandma Millie was a jewel and a Godly woman . She truly would do anything for anyone. Her love for animals was very passionate. I remember we were all over for a family dinner at her house. She had to stop in the middle of preparing dinner, to make the squirrels peanut butter sandwiches. You have touched so many people with your love. Thank you for being the an inspirational mother and mother in law. Forever in my heart !
